Modern Wealth Management (MWM) was founded in December 2022 by former United Capital executives Mike Capelle, Gary Roth, and Jason Gordo. Their mission is to deliver comprehensive wealth management services through a collaborative, team-based approach. Modern quickly gained success when acquiring Barber Financial Group in early 2023, adding $1.5 billion in client assets. The investment team at Modern Wealth Management is led by Stephen Tuckwood, CFA- Director of Investments. "Tuck", brings nearly two decades of experience, including roles at Goldman Sachs' Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group and as Head of Research at United Capital. Tuckwood holds bachelor's and master's degrees in finance and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. The team is responsible for reviewing model investment strategies, determining asset allocation targets, selecting specific securities or funds, and monitoring portfolio performance. They assist with prospecting, ongoing service, and investment platform diligence. Advisor Support and Collaboration MWM collaborate closely with newly onboarded advisers during the transition and integration process, providing oversight and feedback to ensure prudent management of portfolios. Advisors are supported by a centralized concierge team that helps with onboarding and provides a directionally accurate financial plan before the first client meeting.

Post Acquisition sharing of growth incentives

The owner's compensation model will largely be set with owner input around cash flow needs post-close. There is typically a minimum replacement cost level that will be assessed, which is approximately 20% of revenue. Following the first anniversary of the closing date, the owner is eligible to participate in the MWM Business Development Incentive Compensation Program which is a share of new client revenue from the account opening date as follows: 40% of first-year revenue, 30% of second-year revenue, and 20% of third-year revenue.
